G&H Empowering Women: Unveiling the Strength Within

G&H Empowering Women: Unveiling the Strength Within

At Gingham and Heels we are celebrating International Women's Day by embracing the spirit of empowerment! We look at this day as a powerful reminder to honour the achievements of women worldwide, recognise their resilience, and champion gender equality. Let's join hands to break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create a world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.

Words from the women of Gingham & Heels

Sarah - Customer Service Manager

The woman who inspires you the most and why?
My daughters - they inspire me to be a better person - they remind me to always be patient, kind and to laugh a lot!

When do you feel most empowered?
When I make positive changes in my life.

What is your superpower ?
I would say resilience is my biggest superpower and I believe this is the most important to have as a women - we go through a lot being women, a lot of changes physically, emotionally and mentally, whether it be in motherhood, professional careers, relationships, friendships, I think resilience is key in getting through it all.

The best advice you received, or something you would tell to your young self?
Nothing lasts forever, everything is just a phase in someway, shape or form.

Elle - Digital Marketing Manager

The woman who inspires you the most and why?
My grandma. She's had a very interesting life filled with adventures, and I love listening to her stories.
She's a strong woman with a heart of gold, and I aspire to be just like her when I'm in my 70s-80s!

When do you feel most empowered?
When with my girlfriends. Aside from the fun times we have together, we support each other in every aspect of life and I consider myself very lucky having people I can truly rely on and be myself with. Everything is possible when you have the right people by your side.

What is, according to you, an important superpower to have as a woman?
I think independence is a quality any woman should have. Being able to know and do what you want without needing or relying on someone else is so important.

The best advice you received, or something you would tell to your young self?
As my grandma would say, "Think about yourself. No one will do it for you!"

Charlotte - Social Media & Marketing Coordinator

The woman who inspires you the most and why?
My mum. As a business owner she has shown me the importance of hard work but also balance between work and play. My mum is always willing and ready to help anyone and everyone and I will always look up to her kind and nurturing soul.

When do you feel most empowered?
When I can share my experiences or knowledge with my friends and family.

What is, according to you, an important superpower to have as a woman?
Nurturing. As a woman we have the ability to nurture and sympathise with those around us. Being a person someone can come and talk to is a superpower.

The best advice you received, or something you would tell to your young self?
Trust your instincts. What good is intuition if you let second-guessing drown it out? The worst enemy of success is self-doubt.

Jessica - Marketing Assistant

The woman who inspires you the most and why?
The person who inspires me the most is my mother. She embodies the qualities of a strong, capable female leader who can handle anything. I strive to achieve at least half of what she has accomplished as a woman.

When do you feel most empowered?
I feel most empowered when i am surrounded with a supportive group of people while staying true to myself.

What is your superpower ?
Empathy is my superpower. I believe it fosters understanding, compassion, and connection, making it an essential quality for genuine, long-term relationships .

The best advice you received, or something you would tell to your young self?
The best advice I received was “No expectations, no disappointments”. Not to expect certain outcomes or for people to react a certain way to ensure you're not getting disappointed often in life.
