ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an Operations Manager / General Manager to join our team on a 6-12 month maternity cover contract. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee daily operations, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure the smooth running of our fast-paced fashion e-commerce business. You will work closely with key stakeholders across logistics, customer service, finance, digital marketing, product, and supply chain to optimise processes and enhance efficiency, ensuring G&H maintains its high standards of service and operational excellence.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Oversee and manage all operational aspects of the business, ensuring efficiency and performance across logistics, warehousing, and supply chain.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational workflows, enhance productivity, and optimise costs.
- Lead, mentor, and support cross-functional teams, fostering a high-performance and results-driven culture.
- Work closely with the e-commerce, marketing, and customer service teams to align operations with business objectives.
- Oversee product and inventory levels, ensuring key benchmarks are maintained and business performance continues.
- Work with Merchandise Planner and Managing Director to formulate markdown plans and promotional period strategies in alignment with marketing calendar.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers, logistics partners, and key stakeholders to maintain smooth operations.
- Analyse key operational metrics, track performance, and implement data-driven improvements.
- Oversee financial performance and budgeting to ensure cost-effective operations in collaboration with Managing Director.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, workplace health & safety policies, and company standards.
- Act as a key decision-maker alongside the Managing Director during the maternity cover period, ensuring business continuity and strategic progress across all departments.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in an operations or general management role, preferably within the fashion or e-commerce industry.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capability to make data-driven decisions.
- Proven ability to optimise processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Experience in logistics, warehousing, supply chain management, and customer service operations.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and cost controls.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong attention to detail.
